I think that ultimately it is a good idea to get used to hearing yourself singing in your headphones, but when you are first starting out, it can be nice to take away the distraction. This will remove the sound from that insert being sent to the Master channel, but there are some other things to consider. Left click on the end that is connected to the Master Channel.
You can do this by following the green line at the bottom of the Insert track to the Master Channel.
